We LOVE Redeemer
We toured quite a few different daycare facilities when we were expecting our son. Some were out of our budget, some were inconveniently located for us, and there were 2 or 3 that were going to be potentials for us to enroll in. When we were trying to decide what was going to be the right place for our son, we were told to think about how we felt when we were at each facility. I remember the day we came in to tour Redeemer very well. They were still working on the new addition to the church, that was going to house the infant and baby rooms. We spent over an hour with Ms. Bakken, asking questions and looking at the current facility that was in place. We felt extremely comfortable, and welcomed while we were visiting Redeemer. Our son has been attending Redeemer now for almost 2 years, and we know he is in the right place! He has learned, and grown so much while he has been in their care. The staff are all so caring, and friendly. It’s been fun to get to know the other parents of the kids that our son has grown up with. We had been attending Redeemer for a few months, and on one of the daily “report cards” that gets sent home, it said our son fell asleep during a fire drill. Which this was a funny story in itself, but what really stood out to me, was that the staff were actively practicing fire drills. That was something we never asked about when we toured the facilities. I never would have thought of this, had it not been mentioned. I felt re-assured that they were up to date with all safety practices and measures to keep our son, and the rest of the kids safe. When we had just started attending Redeemer, it was around Christmas time. I was fortunate enough to be off for a week also during that time. We were playing with our son, and he was showing off his “tummy time” skills. I knew that they had to have been working on these things with him at Redeemer. Now he’s reciting ABC’s and counting to 10. It’s been truly a blessing to have people who are just as invested in his development, and over all well being as we are. We would gladly recommend, and choose Redeemer again for our son! We appreciate all of the hard work and efforts of the staff. From the little things, like the art work that they send home, to the 4th of July program, and everything in between, thank you for providing such an incredible environment for our son to thrive in!
Amazing!
My daughter has been enrolled with Redeemer CDC since she was 13 weeks old. Redeemer has exceeded my expectations with their friendly staff, immaculate facility, and passionate care! I get text messages and pictures from her teachers and they go above and beyond to provide individual care for each child! They truly know the children in their classrooms!! I cannot thank them enough for the care and love they continue to provide my little one!!!
Friendly and Helpful
We started in November 2015 for before school care to actually save us money then the commercial daycare that we were using. Our 2 kids (7 and 11 year old) love it. Our 7 year says all the time that he likes his new daycare better then his old one. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend this place to everyone who needs a daycare and now that they are taking infants we will definitely be recommending this daycare.
Couldn’t ask for more!
My daughter started at Redeemer almost two years ago. She loves going to school! I love that Redeemer integrates learning with play and art. She has learned so much and will be well prepared for kindergarten. Most importantly, I send her to a school where she is loved and cared for each day. I reccommend Redeemer to everyone!
Cared For With Love
Our first experience with Redeemer occurred when we enrolled our son, who was turning four, into the Preschool. Our son had been enrolled in two local daycares within one year, with each resulting in our decision to remove him due to concerns with safety and staff professionalism. As with most parents we wanted our child to be in an environment where we knew that he would be treated and cared for with love as if he were with us or my mom, who kept our son at the ages of one, two, and part of age three. After meeting with Kathy Bakken a couple of weeks prior to our son starting Redeemer Preschool, we were convinced that Redeemer was the place for our son. We have had only amazing experiences at Redeemer. We are so thankful for being informed about Redeemer. Because we look at Redeemer as our second family, it was a no-brainer when we enrolled our daughter, who had just turned two, into the preschool and childcare.
Top-Notch Program…
I could not imagine a better place for our children to begin their “formal education”. Lots of love, a wonderful curriculum, playtime, creative projects, encouragement and understanding!! Their willingness to work together with us to make sure our children have a successful experience in preschool has truly been amazing. You have a dedicated staff and run a top-notch program, which has created a solid learning foundation for our children’s academic future.
Comforted at Once
My daughter “Jackie” started with Redeemer on her first day of Kindergarten. Jackie had only stayed with her grandmother. She was one of 2 students that participated that year. Once my husband and I met with Kathy we were relieved, we were comforted at once. With anything new, it’s always an adjustment. The Redeemer Staff understood and knew exactly how to help her adjust. Redeemer works well with the Shenandoah Association. My daughter is on the swim team and plays tennis as well. She can visit the pool during summer and attend tennis lessons through summer camp. She also attended Vacation Bible School and LOVED IT!!!
We are so pleased to see the program growing. Our daughter is now in the 2nd grade and has made so many friends. She is learning and thriving. We love our community. We love Redeemer and more importantly she loves Redeemer and everyone there! Thank you all for being there for our family!
Loves coming to preschool!
Our son has been at Redeemer for three years now. He absolutely loves coming to preschool every day. His teachers have made learning fun for him and make him feel loved. As a former teacher myself, it is important to me that he is ready for kindergarten. I can see how much he is growing academically and in his faith every day when he tells us how his day was. All of their staff is wonderful and we are so excited for our second child to start!
Learning has taken off…
Our youngest, Jake, was comfortable in his current routine and we felt he needed to ‘break out’ and increase his social development in order to get ready for Kindergarten. After talking with friends about Redeemer, and the staff, we decided to enroll him in the 4-yr old program. The morning “drop off” for the first few weeks were a wild card. But the staff all welcomed Jake with daily smiles, and they went out of their way to make him (and us) feel comfortable that he was going to have a good day. The curriculum is great – we feel he’s getting what he needs in terms of learning concepts in order to be prepared for Kindergarten, has wonderful opportunities to get creative with either art projects, and the skits as part of the holidays. His learning has taken off, he is more confident than ever and the social skills he is developing make us feel he will be ready once he takes that next step. Without hesitation, we’d recommend Redeemer Lutheran to any of our friends or family.
Nothing short of amazing!
Our experience at Redeemer Lutheran Preschool and Childcare has been nothing short of amazing! Our child has attended since age 2 and is now in the pre-k program. They have help our child succeed in all areas of life and not just academically. Our child has learned so many life skills such as, how to get along with others, share, use the potty, table manners and the list could go on. Our child has definitely learned a lot academically as well and the best part is they play to learn. Whenever I ask my child what they did at school the response is always the same-“we played games”. And when I ask what kind of games it’s academically geared but to our child its a game because the staff and teachers have found a way to make the learning fun. Watching our child soar academically combined with the life skills learned, we feel very confident sending our child to kindergarten next year. We also love that our child is in a Christ centered environment everyday and learning just how much God loves him and just how special he really is. The staff and teachers at Redeemer are beyond loving and kind. They really take an interest in our child’s personal interest and find ways to cater to those in order to help them learn. My husband and I have referred many friends to this school and we will continue to do so even when our child is too old to attend. I honestly could go on and on……but I’m sure our child said it best this morning on the way you to the door to school. “Time to go learn more about God and play games!”
The staff are so passionate…
When we moved to Chesterfield County in 2009, I was blessed enough to find Redeemer Lutheran Preschool and Childcare for my then 3 year old daughter. She attended Redeemer for two years and in her first year of public school she was awarded the “Student of the Year” for her class. She is 10 now and is an honor roll student. Now, my 3 year old and 5 year old attend the full day childcare and preschool program. The teachers, childcare staff and Director are amazing. The program is filled with an educational curriculum along with play, hands on activities, worship and love. The staff are so passionate, dedicated and truly enjoy working with the children. The children’s performance programs throughout the year are entertaining, well planned and well rehearsed. I would recommend Redeemer Lutheran Preschool and Childcare to any parent who wants to know their children are safe, loved and well taken care of.
