Director’s Corner
Dear Parents,
The final month of the summer is here and it is jam packed with fun. There will be plenty of water play when the weather permits. The Kona Ice truck will make one last visit. Jonathan The Juggler and Harold The Magician will wow the kids with their tricks and illusions. And, at the end of the month, preschool begins! If your child plans to stay with us for the school year, your teacher will soon be in touch with everything you need to know.
We hope you are enjoying all of the stories and artwork that are coming home with your children as they enjoy these last dog days of summer.
As
Enjoy soaking up these last days of summer!

VBS Highlights
Vacation Bible School was a HIT this past week. The kids rocked out in the morning to praise music and loved the skits put on by our fearless VBS volunteers. They celebrated God’s greatness with the theme “Monumental” which taught them that no matter what, God is always by your side. Enjoy a few picture highlights below.
It’s Gettin’ Hot Out There
As Mrs. Bakken said earlier in this newsletter we are definitely in the dog days of summer. It is HOT. We want to reassure you that, although we like to go outside, we monitor the temperature constantly. We also make sure that your children get lots of water throughout the day. We want them to be outside as much as possible, but we also know the dangers of overheating. Below are the standards we follow when it comes to heat and playtime.
Outdoor Temperature Recommendations
90 degrees – 94 degrees – 15 – 20 minutes
95 degrees – 99 degrees – 10 – 15 minutes
100 degrees and above – no outside play

The Feelings Corner
Our littles have lots of feelings. Sometimes BIG feelings. Here’s a space for tips and ideas to help with those feelings.
“These games force them to tune into their bodies, manage impulsive urges, and pay attention. Play often, play freely (no need to take it TOO seriously), and most of all… HAVE FUN WITH THEM. Building strong brains while laughing and growing closer? Sounds too good to be true, but IT’S TRUE!”
Exciting news! Starting this school year we will be incorporating a new curriculum into our program: STREAMIN3. This curriculum starts in the infants and goes all the way through Pre-K! We will be merging this curriculum into our program gradually. Our first goal is to integrate all of the social/emotional aspects and grow from there. We are excited to implement all of this and we will keep you posted throughout the school year.
